Ardian Bujupi

Ardian Bujupi is a singer and songwriter born on 27 April 1991 in Pristina to Kosovo Albanian parents. In 1992 or 1993 the family moved to Germany, where he grew up in the Heidelberg area. He sings R&B, urban pop and, in later years, reggaeton-flavoured pop in German, English and Albanian, and is at home in both the German and the Albanian music scenes.

He learned drums and guitar at ten, sang in a Heidelberg school choir and was soon writing and producing his own songs in a small home studio. In 2011 he auditioned for the eighth season of Deutschland sucht den Superstar with Söhne Mannheims' "Und wenn ein Lied" and went on to finish third, going out in the semi-final on 30 April 2011.

His debut single, "This Is My Time", came out on 11 November 2011 and charted in Germany, Switzerland and Austria, and the album To the Top followed on 9 December. In 2012 he danced in the fifth season of Let's Dance and sang "I çmendur për ty" at Festivali i Këngës in Albania, finishing 11th of 17. With the Kosovan DJ Dalool he released "Penthouse" and "Want U Now" in 2013, and "Feel", with Genta Ismajli and Dalool, in 2014.

After the album Ardicted (January 2015) he became a popular name in the Albanian-speaking world in 2016 with "Na jena njo" and "E embel". His third album, Melodia, came out in June 2017, and that summer "Andiamo" with the rapper Capital T went past 50 million YouTube views. In 2018 "Cika Cika" with Xhensila Myrtezaj made him the first male artist to place an Albanian-language song in the official German chart.

"Wie im Traum" with Fero47 reached number 15 in Germany in 2019, his biggest chart success to that point, and the album Rahat (September 2019) reached number 32, after which he toured Germany for the first time. The EP 10 marked ten years of his career in 2021, Aventura (2022) mixed reggaeton and afrotrap in German and Albanian with guests including Ledri Vula, and the album Vegeta followed in May 2024.
