Antioksidanti

Antioksidanti are a five-piece Slovenian rock band from Ajdovščina, formed in 2009. They were formed in Ajdovščina and are based there, which is why they are on Muzika-Balkan under Slovenia, and they sing in Slovenian. The band is singer Erik Jež, guitarists Andraž Žvokelj and Grega Marc, bassist Darjan Brus and drummer Gal Furlan.

All of them took up their instruments in primary school. Andraž and Darjan had started with a forerunner band, Debela Svina, where at first they played only their own songs, because they could not yet play anyone else's, on instruments worth a hundred euros in all. Grega came through a music school and the family band Marc Family Band, and Gal learned drums with Zlatko Kavčič and other teachers.

Their first single, "27. april", came out around 2011. Before their album they played about 65 concerts, mostly in northern Primorska, and also in Ljubljana, Gorenjska, Štajerska and over the border in Italy. On 16 January 2015 they self-released their debut album, Parfum in plastika, with ten songs of their own. Its single "V kleti Evrope" was played on radio across Slovenia and was song of the week on Radio Koper.

The band calls its music socially critical rock and roll, with touches of indie, punk and pop; Andraž Žvokelj writes most of the songs, music first and words after. They draw on the injustice around them and on the relation between the ordinary person and the state, which is also the picture on the album cover: a chess king and queen watching a hanged pawn. In January 2015 they played "Trenutek z mano", a song about how a person sees life before and after learning he has cancer, unplugged on the national TV show Dobro jutro.

In 2015 they won Šourock. Later uploads include "Robot" (2016) and "21h2020" (2021), and with Jure Ferjančič Jurc they recorded "Boogie ob polnoči", a song of the Big Bibls Brothers Band. The playlist is the band's own channel.
