About Dekadent
Dekadent is a Slovenian black metal band from Ljubljana, formed in 2005. Its music is extreme metal with a strong sense of melody, often described as symphonic or atmospheric black metal, and several of its albums come with short films.
The idea goes back to Artur Felicijan's time in the Ljubljana band Noctiferia. After leaving it and taking a break of a few years, he started a solo project called Vigred (Spring), built on raw black metal. He recorded a demo, Manifestation of Seasonal Bleeding, which became the band's first album in 2006, and when drummer Andraž Krpič, guitarist Boštjan Ivančič and bassist Andrej Bohnec joined him, the project took the name Dekadent. Keyboard player Alen Felicijan joined before the first concert at the club K4.
The second album, The Deliverance of the Fall (2008), was a double audio and video release on Pentacle Music, a concept album whose story is told in a short film of the same name. Venera: Trial & Tribulation followed in 2011, and Veritas in 2015, again with its own film. The Nemean Ordeal came out on Dusktone in 2019 and Dionyst in 2024, and the 2017 collection Dekada - A Manifest of Liberty marked ten years of the band.
Artur Felicijan, on vocals and guitar, has led Dekadent from the start, today with guitarist Gajwasz, drummer Tine Horvat and bassist Gal. Their videos include "Vigred", "Dissident Dream", "Raided" and "Pasijon".
