About Anabel

Anabel is a Slovenian pop singer, songwriter and radio presenter. She was born Ana Teržan on 29 April 1999 in Celje and comes from Liboje, a village near Celje, where she went to the first five years of primary school before moving on to the school in Griže and then to the School of Economics in Celje. That Slovenian home is why she is on Muzika-Balkan. She has a twin brother, Tilen.

Her first song, "Ob kavi", won the Poprock 2017 evening of the Days of Slovenian Popular Music. It spent several weeks on the SloTop50 chart, peaking at number 21, and Anabel was the most-played new artist on Slovenian radio that year. Half a year after the win the song got an a cappella version with the group Bassless, and it was nominated for song of the year at the Žarometi 2017 awards.

She has taken part in EMA, the Slovenian Eurovision selection, twice: in 2018 with "Pozitiva" and in 2022 with "Tendency". She wrote or co-wrote the music and lyrics of her songs, "Pozitiva" being the exception. Her first four songs were produced by the musician Nino Ošlak, and since 2021 Žan Serčič has been her producer; she also sang as a guest on his song "Rada" that year.

From 2020 to 2023 she was a presenter on Hitradio Center, where from autumn 2020 she mostly hosted the morning show, first with Alen Podlesnik and later with Matic Meško. In 2024 she sang "Bilo bi lepo" at the Melodije morja in sonca festival in Portorož, finishing 12th, and in 2026 she released her first album, Na polici. The playlist gathers Anabel's official music videos from her own channel, from "Ob kavi" to "20 let".
