About LPS

LPS, short for Last Pizza Slice, is a Slovenian pop-rock band from Celje. It was formed in December 2018 in the music room of the Gimnazija Celje - Center grammar school, where Filip Vidušin, Martin Škorjanec, Žiga Žvižej, Maj Lesjak and Mark Semeja met for their first rehearsal.

In December 2019, in a line-up with Gašper Hlupič on drums, the band won the expert jury's award at the school's own song contest, Centrovizija. In 2020 they were chosen for the eighth season of Špil liga, the competition for young Slovenian bands, and went all the way to the final on Kongresni trg in Ljubljana on 22 June 2021. Three days before it they released the EP Live from Šiška, five of their own songs recorded live at the semi-final in Kino Šiška. After the final the line-up settled with Mark Semeja back on guitar and Zala Velenšek on bass and saxophone.

On 19 February 2022 LPS won EMA, the Slovenian Eurovision selection, with "Disko", written by the band with Jakob Korošec; its video drew on singer Filip Vidušin's own experience of being dumped at a disco. A week earlier they had released their first official single, "Silence in My Head". In the EMA final "Disko" had the highest public score and the second-highest jury score. At the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 in Turin, after Ana Soklič's year, they finished 17th and last in the first semi-final and did not reach the final; Joker Out followed them in 2023. "Disko" reached number 35 in Lithuania.

"Osem korakov" came out with a video on 13 January 2023, and in July guitarist Mark Semeja left the band; Martin Mutec took over the guitar. "Insomnia" followed in September. On 5 February 2024 they announced their first album with the single "Počakaj me", and the album of the same name came out on 28 February 2024, made with the producer Žare Pak. The single "Perry" followed in 2025.

Today the band is Filip Vidušin on vocals, Gašper Hlupič on drums, Martin Mutec on electric guitar, Zala Velenšek on bass and saxophone and Žiga Žvižej on keyboards.
