About Alma Alta
Alma Alta, born Alma Mulamustafić, is a Bosnian and Yugoslav folk singer. She was born in Bijeljina, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and that is why she is on Muzika-Balkan under Bosnia. For many years she has lived and worked in Berlin, Germany.
She first sang in the Serbian girl group Đerdan, together with Anđelka Govedarović, Mira Vasiljević, Gordana Lazarević and other singers, and appeared on the 1979 album Budi opet život moj with Đerdan and Mira Vasiljević. Her own early singles were "Lepa Ciganka" and "Šašavo moje / Zbog jednog čoveka".
Her first album, Ne dam svoje telo, came out on Jugoton in 1982. Lažu, lažu svi followed on Sarajevo Disk in 1984, and then two albums for PGP RTB: Baja iz raja in 1985, recorded with the orchestra of Bane Đorđević and produced by Zoran Radetić, and Nebeska nevesta in 1991. Her songs also appeared on many folk compilations of the 1980s and 1990s, among them Zlatni glasovi BiH No. 1 (1994) with "Lažu, lažu svi".
In Berlin she worked for some time as a cultural manager in the cultural integration of displaced people. When she decided to return to music, she joined a jazz orchestra funded by the city of Berlin, and through the organisation Utopia Kulturleben Berlin her own composition "Ich heiße Liebe" ("My name is love") was performed.
The playlist is her 1985 album Baja iz raja, released by PGP RTB, from "Sve sam momke varala" to "Bekrije".
