About Alina Devecerski

Alina Devecerski is a Swedish pop singer, songwriter, dancer and choreographer. She was born Alina Natalie Devecerski on 27 March 1983 in what was then Yugoslavia, today Serbia, and that is why she is on Muzika-Balkan among the artists of Serbia: she was born there, and her father is from Serbia; her mother is half Finnish. She grew up in Sundbyberg, just north of Stockholm. The sources do not say where she lives today, but she still records in Swedish and tours Sweden, with concerts in Uppsala and Gothenburg in 2025.

Growing up she was inspired above all by Brandy, Monica, Aaliyah, Janet Jackson and Michael Jackson. At 19 she sang in a girl band, and for years she sang backing vocals and wrote songs for other artists. In 2010 she started a solo career and spent a year and a half writing material for herself, together with the producer Christoffer Wikberg, with whom she writes her music.

Her breakthrough came in the spring of 2012 with the electropop single "Flytta på dej", released on 20 April. It spent two weeks at number one on the Swedish singles chart and also topped the charts in Norway and Denmark. That summer she played Hultsfred, Peace & Love, Emmaboda and Storsjöyran, toured with Veronica Maggio in the autumn, and released "Ikväll skiter jag i allt" and "Jag svär", whose video was directed by Marcus Storm.

Her debut album, Maraton, came out on 19 November 2012 on EMI. Two of its songs were written with Joakim Berg of Kent, and the album was well received by the Swedish music press. Its third single, "De e dark nu", went straight onto the A-list of Sveriges Radio P3 in January 2013. In 2014 she played Kentfest in Gothenburg and Stockholm and released the more punk-flavoured "Armé", from the mini-album Gnista + Gas on Warner Music.

She guested on the Danish artist JonasForFanden's "Blind" and on Cleo's "240" in 2015. After a few years away she returned in July 2019 with "Ingen jävel", released on her own label without management, and later singles include "Krigare" and "Om du går". The playlist gathers her videos, from "Flytta på dej" to her newest songs.
