About Zoran Kulina
Zoran Kulina, known as Zoka, was a Serbian folk singer from Bosnia and Herzegovina. He was born on 1 January 1960 in Tvrdimići, a village near Sarajevo in today's East New Sarajevo, and sang turbo-folk and humorous folk songs.
He became popular in the 1990s with a series of albums built around "Gara", who became his trademark. His friends called him the "doctor of Gara" and said he was the first to sing about her that way. The first album, Garo, garo, came out on cassette on Phonodisc in 1991, and Nova Gara (1996), Opet Gara (1997), Zbogom Garo (1998) and Vratila se gara (1998) followed. Several songs, among them "Coban tjera", "Picu" and "Cuti Djurdja", he wrote himself.
The Gara story went on with Gari Gara i nagari (2000), Gara za miss svijeta (2002), the compilation Turbo Gara, Nije moja potrošena Gara (2004) and Gara i plavuša (2006). His records came out on the Renome and Sarajevo Disk labels. His songs were played in Republika Srpska, in Serbia and across the other countries of the former Yugoslavia.
After the compilation Hitovi (2008) he released Ljuljamo se ja i Gara in 2012, and his last album, Nije mene ostavila Gara, came out in 2017. Zoran Kulina died on 19 October 2021 in Lukavica, aged 61. His songs, from "Garo, garo" to "Gara za miss svijeta", are gathered here in one playlist.
