About Vedat Ademi

Vedat Ademi is a Kosovan pop singer and songwriter. He was born on 22 August 1982 in Mitrovica, in the north of Kosovo, and he is on Muzika-Balkan because he was born and grew up there and built his career on the Albanian-language scene of Kosovo and Albania. After his son was born in 2012 the family lived in Tirana, Albania, and in 2016 he moved with his wife and son to Brooklyn, New York, where he lives now.

He made his debut in 2007 at Top Fest in Tirana with "Më mashtruan sytë", and in the same year he sang "Mall që djeg" at Kënga Magjike, the other big Albanian song festival. In 2008 he was back at Top Fest with "Mund të ishim bashkë" and reached the final. He went on to take part in both festivals many times.

His breakthrough across the Albanian-speaking world came in 2011 with the album Koha s'kthehet ("Time does not come back") and its hits "Emrin tim" and "Për ty". "Për ty", released as a single in 2012, became his most successful song, and "Një jetë me ty" and "Nën frymën tënde" followed in the same year. In 2013 he had another big hit with "Në zemër të mbaj", a duet with the singer Yllka Kuqi, and in 2014 he released "Ke harruar". Earlier singles include "Po më prite" (2008), "Yjet s'bien shpeshë" (2010) and two duets from 2011, with Pirro Çako and with Rezarta Shkurta.

His music is melodic pop with a pop-rock edge, sung in Albanian. The playlist gathers his own channel's videos, from the older hits such as "Për ty" and "Panorama" to the duets he has recorded since moving to New York.
