The Stone

The Stone is a Serbian black metal band from Belgrade. It started in 1996 under the name Stone to Flesh and has been called The Stone since 2001. Guitarist Kozeljnik has been in the band from the beginning.

In February 1997, as Stone to Flesh, they recorded their first demo, Serbian Woods, and played their first concerts, followed a year later by the demo Killed by the Sun. The Greek label Demonion Productions released both demos as the band's first official release, Unveiled Evil (1999), and in the winter of 1999/2000 they recorded the album Some Wounds Bleed Forever, released by CCP Records.

After the change of name the band signed with Wolfcult Productions (Solistitium) and released their first album as The Stone in the spring of 2002. The compilation Tragom hromog vuka followed in 2003, the album Zakon Velesa in 2004 and the EP Čujete li, smeju nam se mrtvi on the Czech label Eclipse Productions at the end of that year. In 2005 they signed with the Berlin label Folter Records, which released Magla (2006), Umro (2009) and Golet (2011).

The Stone have toured widely: a mini tour of Germany with Lugubre in 2009, a European tour with the Romanian band Negura Bunget in 2010 and, from 15 September 2011, the day Golet came out, a European tour supporting the Seattle black metal band Inquisition. Later albums are Crna hronika (2013), Nekroza (2014), Teatar apsurda (2017), Kosturnice (2021) and Kletva (2025), along with the EP Kruna praha (2019).

Today's line-up is Glad on vocals, Kozeljnik on guitar, Vrag on bass and Honza Kapák on drums. Longtime singer Nefas, guitarist Demonetras, keyboard player Urok and drummer L.G. are among the musicians who have played in the band over the years. The playlist here gathers the band's own videos, from "Nikad bliži smrti" and "Gavranovo" to "Teatar apsurda" and full album streams.
