About Tabu
Tabu are a Slovenian pop rock band formed in 1998. The first line-up was singer Nina Vodopivec, drummer Primož Štorman, guitarist Tomaž Trop, bassist Iztok Melanšek, acoustic guitarist Marjan Pader and keyboard player Sandi Trojner, and it was with them that the band made its first three albums: Tabu (2000), Male nore ideje (2002) and Lunlagun (2004).
In 2006 the line-up changed. Nina Vodopivec left, and Štorman, Trop and Melanšek carried on with two new members, keyboard player Aleš Beriša and singer Tina Marinšek. With her they released the singles "Oblak za dva" (2007), "Pesek in dotik" (2008) and "Namesto srca" (2009), and in November 2009 their fourth album, 42: O smislu življenja, vesolja in sploh vsega. Its single "Poljubljena" reached fifth place among the most-played songs of 2010 on Val 202. At EMA 2011 they sang "Moje luči", written by Trop and Melanšek.
In 2013 they released the EP Hvala za ribe!, and in 2014 they marked fifteen years with Tabu: Odprto!, an autobiographical musical in which the members played themselves and told the band's story through acoustic versions of their songs. On 12 June 2014 they played Križanke in Ljubljana with the RTV Slovenija Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Rok Golob, with Nina Vodopivec back on stage as a guest; the concert was released as the live album Dan 202.
In March 2015, after eight years together, the band parted with Tina Marinšek, and Eva Beus became their third singer. The single "Greva dol" came out in November 2015, followed by the album Nabiralka zvezd on 15 April 2016 with the single "Do kosti". In March 2018 came the single "Hodi sam", and the same year they recorded an unplugged set for Jure Longyka's show Izštekani on Val 202, released as the live album Izštekani.
In 2023 Katarina Samobor from Ptuj took over the vocals from Eva Beus, and in 2025 Tabu released the album BONBON.
