About Slađa Delibašić

Slađa Delibašić (Slađana Delibašić) is a Serbian pop-folk and dance singer and dancer, born on 7 November 1968 in Kosovska Mitrovica, Kosovo. In the 1990s she was the female half of the dance duo Đogani Fantastico with her then husband Đorđe "Đole" Đogani, and since 2001 she has sung on her own.

Her mother died when she was nine, and she grew up with her father Juga, a sportsman, and her brother Igor, a footballer. At fifteen she moved with them to Belgrade. Dancing was her first love: she took lessons on a school playground and then enrolled in a dance school, where she met Đole Đogani. The two spent a year in Italy, came back to Belgrade and opened a dance school that became one of the busiest in Serbia in the 1990s.

From 1992 to 2000 she was part of Đogani Fantastico, a Europop and turbo-folk act known for complicated choreography and counted among the best-known dance acts in Serbia. Its albums included Idemo na Mars (1994), Pronađi sebe (1996), Granice nema (1997), Bensedin (1998) and Da, to je to! (2000), and its songs "Idemo na Mars" and "Leto je" are still sung at nineties parties.

In 2001 she and Đole divorced, she left the duo, and Vesna Trivić took her place. Her first solo album, Šesto čulo (2001), was a successful return: "Neću da slušam laži", "Žene", "Daj" and "Moćnica" all became hits. Zauvek kraljica ritma (2002) did even better, with "Svake noći", "Izađi", "Pusti me" and "Na određeno", and its song "Kraljica ritma" became one of the best-known singles of Serbian dance music. Nekad i sad (2004) was less successful, with "Dupla doza" as its one likely hit.

Baš to followed in 2007, with "Sedmi sprat". Her fifth solo album was called simply 5, a nod to her fifth decade, her fifth album and the top mark in Serbian schools; "5 minuta" and "Dizel Power" came out in 2010. That year she and the actor Igor Matić were runners-up in the first season of the reality show Parovi. After her sixth album, Unikat (2011), she gradually stepped back from the media. All her solo albums came out on City Records.

Slađa Delibašić has two daughters with Đole Đogani, Silvija and Marinela. The two former partners have since kept on friendly terms, and she still performs the Đogani Fantastico songs alongside her solo hits.
