Sitzpinker

Sitzpinker is an alternative, garage and indie rock band from Belgrade. It was founded in September 2017 by three pupils of the Third Belgrade Gymnasium: singer Dunja Mijačić, bassist Pavle Trifunović and drummer Danilo Ilić. The members name the garage sound of the American indie scene, the distorted sound of grunge and the pop hits of the early 2000s as their inspiration, and the first song they recorded together was "Izolacija".

The band released its debut single, "Iako samo", in January 2018 and played its first concert on 2 February that year at the independent cultural centre Kvaka 22. Within a month the singles "Izolacija" and "Lora" followed, and in the spring of 2018 they took fourth place at the Bunt rok festival. Their debut EP, Podlo poštovanje, produced by Uroš Milkić, came out on 1 July 2018 with five songs, none of them the earlier singles, and that summer they played Arsenal Fest in Kragujevac, the Belgrade Beer Fest and the Street Musicians Festival in Novi Sad.

On 23 February 2019 Sitzpinker played at the first Hali Gali festival, and in November that year they appeared on the Hali Gali compilation of nine young Belgrade guitar bands with the new song "Metanoja". In the spring of 2020 they released videos for a new mix of "Izolacija" and a new version of "Da li", produced by Andrej Mladenović.

Mladenović officially became the fourth member in 2021, and that autumn the band released "Sudan", which brought guitars and effects into their sound, and "Mustang", inspired by 1990s British trip hop. "Sudan" topped Radio Aparat's official chart for 2021. Mladenović then took over the drums and Ilić moved to guitar, and on 28 May 2022 the band played abroad for the first time, at Fer Open Er in Zagreb.

After a two-year pause the band returned in December 2023 with the single and video "Ispred očiju", recorded "Tren sigurnosti" for the compilation Hali Gali #2 in February 2024, and in May 2024 released "Iscurim" with Danilo Nikodinovski. Thanks to "Ispred očiju", Sitzpinker made the shortlist for the Milan Mladenović Award in the summer of 2024.
