About Okttober

Okttober is a Slovenian rock band from Maribor, and it is based there: that is why it is on Muzika-Balkan. They call their music melancholic-melodic rock, and they sing in Slovenian, about personal, everyday and sometimes socially critical themes.

The band goes back to 2009, when the singer and guitarist Milan Fras and the bassist Rene Markovič were joined by the lead guitarist Niki Stojanović and the drummer Grega Božič. At first, before Stojanović arrived, they were called Woody and the Seamonkiz. The bass has changed hands several times since: Lan Falež replaced Markovič in 2015, Primož Pavlin followed him, and at the end of 2018 Sebastijan Roškarič took over.

Their first single, "Lep dan", came out in 2013 and went to radio the next year, reaching the top of the charts of several stations, among them Radio City, Radio Maribor, Radio Prlek and Radio Rogla. In 2015 came "Sem kakor ti", chosen song of the week on Val 202, and "Dlani". All three got videos made with the young Croatian director Dinko Šimec. Their debut album, 10, was released on 10 October 2015, and "Poišči me v pravljici" was among the most played Slovenian songs of 2016 on the annual SAZAS chart.

In 2018 the band took a long break because of the singer's health, and after a year and a half away it came back to the stage with Roškarič on bass. New songs followed: "Obljube" and "Majhne sledi" in 2020, then "Zadnje sonce" in 2025 and "Obrni stran" in 2026, the year of their second album, Anemoia. The playlist gathers their videos from "Lep dan" to "Obrni stran".
