About Nina Kraljić
Nina Kraljić is a Croatian singer, songwriter and voice actress, born on 4 April 1992 in Lipovljani. She won the first season of The Voice – Najljepši glas Hrvatske and sang "Lighthouse" for Croatia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2016, reaching the final. Her voice, with its touches of folk singing, is her trademark.
Her first television appearance came in 2009 on Supertalent, the Croatian version of Got Talent, where she placed tenth in the final, and in 2010 she recorded the single "Kaži mi". She left home at fourteen to develop as a musician, and she studied opera at a music academy and Croatian studies at the Faculty of Philosophy in Rijeka.
In The Voice in 2015 she sang "Beneath Your Beautiful", "Što te nema" and the Macedonian folk song "Zajdi, zajdi, jasno sonce". Her mentor Jacques Houdek led her to victory with about a million votes in the final. In June 2015 she released her first single, "Zaljuljali smo svijet", a modern ballad with ethnic elements, and on 17 March 2016 she won the Porin for best new artist, with nominations for best female vocal performance and best arrangement as well.
At Eurovision in Stockholm, "Lighthouse" came tenth in the first semi-final with 133 points and took Croatia back to the final for the first time in seven years, where it finished 23rd. The ESCKAZ portal named her Miss Eurovision that year. Her debut album, Samo, followed on 30 September 2016, with two songs she wrote herself in English, "Lullaby" and "Lay You Down", and "Što te nema" recorded with the composer Matija Dedić.
At Dora 2021, the Croatian Eurovision selection, she performed as Alkonost of Balkan with "Rijeka", which she wrote with Hana Librenjak and Miki Solus, and came second with 145 points behind Albina. She is also a busy voice actress in Croatian dubs of animated films and series. The playlist gathers her recordings, from "Zaljuljali smo svijet" and "Lighthouse" to her later singles.
