About Neozbiljni pesimisti
Neozbiljni pesimisti ("Non-serious Pessimists") is a band from Sombor that calls its music "anti-global ethno punk": folk punk with violin, trumpet and accordion, bitter lyrics and cheerful, fast tunes. Singer Igor Olujić and guitarist Boris Mišić founded it in 2001.
The band played its first concert in Sombor in 2005 and won the local Gitarijada in Kula in 2006. The debut album, Neka bude što biti ne može, was recorded in 2008 at the DOREMI studio and released in 2010 by SKC Novi Sad, and Omladinci kud' ste pošli followed in July 2012. Guitarist Boris Golub joined at the end of 2011, and the eight-piece line-up also includes Igor Martinko on violin and trumpet, the brothers Davor and Damir Demonja on drums and keyboards and accordion, Denis Jerbić on percussion, Peđa Maćuš on saxophone and clarinet, and Dragan Tomić on bass.
They have played Exit, the Nisville jazz festival, Pol'and'Rock and Basowiszcza in Poland, Skavil on Krk, and festivals in Slovenia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, and toured France and Switzerland in 2011. "Divan dan" features Atheist Rap.
In December 2019 the label Long Play released Pametovanje iz provincije, eleven songs on hard themes set to their typical lively music, with guests including the singer of Goblini, Šemso of Brkovi and the Sombor children's choir Šareni vokali. Its songs include "Totalna demoralizacija", "Hepa hej" and "Psiho folk".
