About Meri Trošelj

Meri Trošelj is a Croatian singer-songwriter from Rijeka. In 2005 she won the Porin for best vocal performance for "Speak to Me", a song on the album Infinity by the guitarist Damir Halilić Hal, her regular collaborator.

She sang in the Rijeka rock band Tadaima, and in 1987 she appeared at the Split Festival with "Daj mi nježnosti"; her song "Tama" is on the Zagreb Fest '87 album. In 1992 she was a member of the pop, funk and soul group Dr. Doktor, which released a single album. Her own album, Uzmi šutnju, came out on Croatia Records in 1998, with songs such as "Uzmi šutnju" and "Sklapam oči".

As a singer she worked with the Elvis Stanić Group on the albums Terra Sacra (1997) and Samba Mediterranea (1999), and together with Halilić she wrote words and music for the album Denise Denise (1998) by the singer Denise. Meri Trošelj co-wrote the lyrics of "Mala laž" on the 2000 album Zastave by Parni valjak, and sang lead on "Don't Count on Me" on the album Just One Thing (2007) by Crooks & Straights.

She is also the singer of the Rijeka quartet Quartet Sensitive, whose music is built on the Brazilian bossa nova tradition; in 2000 the quartet released Afternoon with Jobim. In May 2005 she sang at a UNICEF concert on Zagreb's Cvjetni trg for the campaign "Every child needs a family".
