About Matjaž Romih
Matjaž Romih is a Slovenian singer-songwriter and chansonnier who has worked for many years as a radio announcer. He sings in Slovenian, and he is on Muzika-Balkan under Slovenia because he is a Slovenian artist whose career is in Slovenia. He is the older brother of the television and radio host Boštjan Romih.
As a chansonnier he won the Slovenian Chanson Festival in 2005. His song "Zimska romanca" first appeared on his own album years ago. His radio job gave him one of his songs: "Napovedovalec" ("The Announcer"), which he also sang at the Kristalni mikrofon gathering in 2023.
With his partner Vanja, a singer from jazz, he formed the duo BosaZnova: two voices and a guitar, singing love songs. They presented songs at Melodije morja in sonca and Slovenska popevka in 2022, released their debut album in May 2023, and recorded a new version of "Zimska romanca" with Matjaž singing most of the story and Vanja joining in the choruses. For their song "Običajen par" at the 42nd Melodije morja in sonca, Matjaž won the jury's award for the best lyrics.
In 2025 he was back at the revived Festival of Slovenian Chanson with "Hohštapler", sung at the final concert in Velenje in November. The playlist gathers his solo songs from his own channel, from "Bež" and "Mačji bluz" to "Hohštapler".
