About Ljubičice
Ljubičice are a band from Pančevo built around the brothers Petar and Vuk Stevanović, with musicians of many backgrounds orbiting them. They often call themselves a rock and roll band, but their style is a crossover of genres that listeners usually file under indie pop, and every member is a classically trained musician.
They first appeared on stage with their own songs at the demo band contest Tvoj zvuk in Božidarac at the end of 2011 and won the jury's first prize. In July 2012 they reached the final of Demofest in Banja Luka, and the readers of the web magazine Popboks voted them the best new band of 2012. Their debut album, Ljubičice&Co., came out in 2014, followed by the album Godine u vetru with Jesenji orkestar and Ecičibulj Brass Album, which showed their avant-garde side.
In February 2017 they released "Bombonice" with Sajsi MC, which went to number one on MTV's regional chart. That spring, on Youth Day, they presented the EP Rad na zemlji with the Evenos string quartet, released on cassette and accompanied by the single "Veliko hvala (i zdravo)" with an animated video. Their next album, Dok čekamo pad, came out in 2023.
As musicians and producers they have worked with many other artists, including Buč Kesidi, Jarboli, Bill Drummond, Nadja and Svi na pod!. They wrote the music for the TV series Žigosani u reketu, the children's series Muke jednog Lava produced by RTS, the feature film Drugi deo and several short films, and they have won the Milan Mladenović award and Runda awards.
