Jelena Broćić

Jelena Broćić is a Serbian singer of folk music, described in the press as one of the well-known singers of domestic folk. She won over audiences across the region with songs such as "Bele rade", "Zvezda Danica" and "Ko ostavlja ruže ispred moga praga", and many predicted a successful career for her.

At the height of her fame she withdrew from the stage to put her family first; she has said that becoming a mother, to her son Vasilije, was her proudest moment, and that she set her career aside after he was born. She never gave up singing, though. She has kept performing at private celebrations and events, and she has said that she often appears in folk costume. In her own words, it is enough for her to do her job, with no sensation around it.

In September 2023 Jelena Broćić returned to a concert stage after a long break from the media, although by then she had released nothing new for some time.
