About Ivana Plechinger
Ivana Plechinger is a Croatian pop singer, songwriter and television presenter, born in Zagreb on 3 July 1973. She finished school in Našice, went to music school in Osijek and later graduated from the Music Academy.
Back in Zagreb she started singing in the group Funny Hill and from there went solo. She recorded two albums, Ivana Plechinger (1996) and Pitali momci (1998), with songs by her husband Bruno Kovačić, who played in Gibonni's band in the 1990s, and a few of her own. "Mala ptica nebeska", written by Kovačić and arranged by Miro Buljan, comes from the first one; other songs of hers include "Pitali momci", "Kocka šećera", "'Ajmo noge lagane", "Što će mi dukati" and "Mene ostavlja". She also recorded the traditional "Međimurska" for the compilation Cro Etno Neum '96. Her performance of "Zora" at Dora 1997, the Croatian selection for Eurovision, was widely noticed.
As a songwriter Ivana Plechinger has songs on albums by Vanna, Jacques Houdek and Divas, among others. With Bruno Kovačić she wrote "Kao rijeka" for Vanna and "To nismo mi", which Oliver Dragojević sang with Divas.
For eight years, from 1996 to 2004, she presented the children's programme Hugo on HRT. She then moved to RTL, hosted the radio quiz Kvazi kviz and opened a children's party venue that brings together music, teaching and fun. In 2016 she was a contestant on the TV quiz Pet na pet. She is the mother of two sons.
