About Goca Tržan

Goca Tržan, born Gordana Tržan on 8 July 1974 in Belgrade, is a Serbian pop singer, actress and TV host. She was the first child of Rosanda and Anton, and her father is of Slovenian descent. She went to school in New Belgrade and to the Tenth Belgrade Gymnasium, then enrolled at the Faculty of Agriculture in Belgrade, which she left in her second year to follow music.

Her start came as a backing singer, together with Ivana Peters, for the group Tapiri. Its producers invited her to become their singer, and this led to the Belgrade group Tap 011, formed in 1994. With Tap 011 she sang "Hit" (1995) and "Tvoja mala lujka" (1996) at the MESAM festival, "Moda od labuda" at Pjesma Mediterana in Budva and "Lesi" at Sunčane skale, both in 1997. After four albums with the group she left in 1999 to go solo.

Her first solo album, U niskom letu, came out on PGP RTS in 1999 with the hit "Zagrli". Želim da se promenim followed in 2001 on City Records, the same year as "1200 milja", her duet with Toše Proeski. Then came Peta strana sveta (2002, DMD Sound), Otrov u čaj (2004), Plavi ram (2008) and the EP Mastilo (2010). Festivals stayed part of her work: "Haljina" was second at Sunčane skale in 2004, "Hotel" third at the Radio festival in 2006, and "Kao ljudi" shared first place there in 2007 with Saša Kovačević.

In the 2010s Goca Tržan kept releasing singles, among them "Piši propalo", "Srećo nečija", "Strašilo", "Voleo si skota", "21 gram", "Gluve usne" and "Lažna krila". "U tebe me ne diraj", with Stefan Petrušić, took third place at the Grand festival in 2012. She later released "Žena za jednu noć" (2019) and "Mirno" with Princ (2023), and "Pelin" won the award for interpretation at Beogradsko proleće in 2024. In 2022 she entered the Serbian Eurovision selection with "Fitilj" but withdrew.

She is also known as an actress: her best-known role is Jorgovanka in the TV series Selo gori, a baba se češlja (2008-2010). She finished fourth in Survivor Srbija VIP in 2010, took part in the first season of Tvoje lice zvuči poznato, judged the children's show Pinkove zvezdice from 2014 to 2019, and dubbed Mamá Imelda in the Serbian version of Coco.
