About Gaja Prestor
Gaja Prestor is a Slovenian pop singer and television presenter, born on 22 April 2000 in Trbovlje; she comes from Radeče. She was drawn to music as a child: she sang in the school choir, took solo singing lessons, and at the music school in Radeče played piano, then violin and finally viola, before teaching herself guitar. From 2012 she studied for six or seven years at Vocal BK Studio in Celje.
From 2012 to 2014 she was a member of the youth group U3, made up of Vocal BK Studio pupils, which played Ritem mladosti and opened for Bajaga at Klub Štuk. In 2013 she recorded her first song, "Lepši svet", which she co-wrote, and in 2015 she came second in her age group at the teen festival FeNS with her own "Take a Chance".
The turning point came in 2017, when she started working with the songwriter and producer Žan Serčič. Their "To je, kar imam" came out in March 2018 on Menart and counts as her first official song. "Ona" and "Decembra" followed the same year, and in June 2018 Menart named her its best pop debutant of 2017/18. "Najino nebo" and "Le tebe rabim" came in 2019, and on 22 February 2020 she competed at EMA, the Slovenian Eurovision selection, with "Verjamem vase".
"Zame" (2021) was made with a new team, Bianca Črnjavič and Klemen Zupančič, and she then began working with zalagasper, which brought the single "Sledi" on Universal Music in 2022. Her later videos include "Pepel", "Biseri", "Voda", "Odhajam" and "Hiša iz stekla". She sings in Slovenian.
Away from music she is known for make-up and style content online; Raiven noticed her on Instagram and had her do her make-up for EMA 2017. In 2021 she hosted the first season of Planet Vau on Planet TV.
