About Žan Serčič
Žan Serčič is a Slovenian pop singer, guitarist, songwriter and producer, born on 13 May 1995 in Maribor. He grew up in Lenart in Slovenske gorice, went to music school alongside primary school and then studied at the Secondary School of Design in Maribor.
Slovenian audiences met him in 2011 in the second season of the television show Slovenija ima talent. He won over the audition with Taio Cruz's "Break Your Heart", sang Bruno Mars's "Grenade" in the semi-final and "Dynamite" in the final. Even before the semi-final he had signed with the label Menart, and soon after the final he released his first single, "Dajem ti vse", made with the producer Martin Lesjak, known as Stayercproduction.
In January 2012 came "What About Us", the first song he wrote entirely himself, and that December he recorded the New Year favourite "Silvestrski poljub" as a duet with Eva Boto. He sang "Ljubezen na prvi pogled" at Melodije morja in sonca in 2013, and on 27 February 2016 he performed "Summer Story" at EMA, the Slovenian selection for Eurovision.
Žan Serčič writes most of his songs himself and plays the guitar, which he has also taught at a music school. His albums are To sem jaz (2017), Iz moje sobe (2020) and Ljubezenske igre (2023). He also produces for others, among them Balladero's singles "Ponesi me" and "Drugačen svet".
On 18 June 2024 he played one of his biggest concerts so far at Križanke in Ljubljana, together with his band Šakali. His newer videos include "Plamen in kri", "Kamasutra", "Nekdo" and "Nisem več tvoj", and he has recorded "Za vedno si ti" with Modrijani.
