Flaka Krelani

Flaka Krelani is a rock singer and songwriter from Kosovo, one of the best-known rock voices in Albanian music. She was born on 28 June 1989 in Gjakova, Kosovo, which is why she is on Muzika-Balkan under Kosovo. She sings rock, alternative rock and blues rock, and has been active since 2004.

She started out on "Ethet", a talent contest much like Idol, where she reached the final. In the years that followed she sang at festivals across the Albanian-speaking lands and quickly made a name in rock. At Top Fest she won Best Alternative in 2007 with "Një botë tjetër" and, in 2011, the prize for best rock and alternative song with "Krej ç'ka ke s'je".

Festivali i Këngës, the Albanian contest that chooses the country's Eurovision song, brought her some of her best results: second place with "Jeta kërkon dashuri", sung with Doruntina Disha, and third place in 2015 with "S'je për mu". In all she tried four times to represent Albania at Eurovision.

Her videos won awards too. "Një botë tjetër" won Best Rock Video and Best Editing at Videofest Awards in 2007, "T'boj me rock" won Best Rock Video there a year later, and "Zjarr" was named Best Rock Video at Netët e Klipit Shqiptar in 2015. In 2016 she released her album Xperimental, and she sang "Rebelohem" at Kënga Magjike 2016.

She has also recorded with other artists: "Nuk mundem" with Arbër Elezi, "Për ty" with Erti Hizmo, "Beautiful World" with Troja, "Qyteti i humbur" with the artists of Gjakova and "Si bass" with Rina Abdyli and MC Kresha.
