Era Ojdanić

Andrija "Era" Ojdanić is a Serbian folk singer, born on 13 December 1947 in the village of Visoka near Arilje to his father Ranisav and mother Radina. When he was eleven his family moved to the village of Leskovac near Stepojevac, where he still lives. He learned the accordion from Dušan Stojićević of Veliki Borak and perfected it with Budimir Buca Jovanović.

He began recording in 1973, and his first big hit, "Oženjen sam, kao momak živim", came out in 1975. His albums followed steadily from the late 1970s: Andrija Ojdanić Era (1978), Procvetala bela lala (1980), Lako je tebi, mala (1981), Ti si moja šljiva ranka (1982), Selo moje, volim tvoje ime (1983), Piši šta je pila žena plava (1987), Era s ovog sveta (1989), Dvostruki pobednik (1990), Trubač sa Jelice (1996), Šmeker (2001), Kazanova (2002), Pauk (2003) and Da je život pametniji (2008), the last with Milić Vukašinović.

He was a frequent guest at festivals: at Ilidža he sang "Ja sam Era Zlatiborac" (1978), "Rado, lepa Rado" (1979) and "Najdraža slika" (1980), and in 1980 he won the Ivanjica festival with "Oj, Milice, čobanice". In 1989 his "Užičanka" won the audience award and the festival at MESAM. Later he sang duets with Bora Drljača at Moravski biseri, won that festival in 2017 with "Divlja ruža" and took the first audience award at the Lira festival in Belgrade in 2019 with "Sestrić".

Among his best-known songs are also "Šta to radiš, Maro", "Sliku čuvam pored ikone", "I sve što sam stek'o", "Nisam majstor da napravim bure" and "Pauk". In March 2022 the Union of Music Artists of Serbia gave him a lifetime achievement award.

Outside music he runs the motel and restaurant Era i sin on the Ibar highway at Meljak. He is also known from reality television, with two appearances on Big Brother, the fourth season of Farma and the 2015 season of Parovi, and from September 2021 to January 2022 he hosted the show Prelo u našem sokaku.
