About Dean Dvornik

Dean Dvornik is a Croatian musician, singer, composer and lyricist, born in Split on 27 February 1963. He is on Muzika-Balkan as a Split-born artist from a famous Split family: he is the son of actor Boris Dvornik and the brother of funk star Dino Dvornik. He lived in the United States from 1986 to 1993 and then came home to make records in Croatia; the sources found do not say where he lives today. As a child he had already appeared on screen, as little Mirko in the TV series Naše malo misto.

In 1983 he released the first album of the band Kineski zid with his brother Dino, who sang, while Dean played bass and wrote music and lyrics. In 1986 he stepped out on his own at Zagrebfest with "Ključ", which drew a lot of attention, and then left for America for seven years.

Back in Croatia he put out the single "Drž' me čvrsto" in 1994 as the first taste of his debut album, Back to reality, released by Croatia Records in 1995. At that year's Split festival he sang "Moja Rozita" with Vlatka Pokos, Tedi Spalato and Neno Belan, and his "Samo za nju" became a big hit at Zadarfest. He also produced and wrote the charity song "Samo reci ne", sung by 44 Split performers.

Čuvar sna (1997), with "Ja vidim sve" and "Ti i ja kad zbrojimo sve", was well received by fans and critics alike. Ključ (1999) included "Balada o Šarku", sung with his father Boris and taken from Miljenko Smoje's play Ja i moj mali kumpanjo. In 2002 he joined The Obala as bassist and singer for the album Istinite priče, then returned to solo work with Kad odeš ti (2005).

Čuvam svaku kap (2012) was dedicated to his brother and father, and Da je meni biti more followed in 2018. Dean Dvornik has kept releasing songs, among them "Falis mi", "Ista ko prije" and "Tišina" with Lidija Bačić, and lately sings in the trio Dean, Zoki i Jadran. The playlist follows him from "Drž' me čvrsto" to the trio's newest songs.
