Damjan Murko

Damjan Murko is a Slovenian pop singer and showman, born on 5 February 1985 in Maribor. He is on Muzika-Balkan under Slovenia because he was born there and has made his whole career on the Slovenian scene, and Maribor is still his base: his music business is registered in the city. He calls himself a musician, showman and author, and his provocative image and colourful videos have made him one of the most talked-about faces of Slovenian entertainment.

He began singing in 2000 at a small event called Živilko poje. After his first album, Poleti lastovka, with music by Tomi Valenko and words by Mili Korpar, he started to perform more often, also in Croatia and Germany. His second album, Srečen, ker sem moški, came out on Platin Records in 2005, its title song written by the singer Saša Lendero. In 2006 he reached the final of the Pesem poletja festival with "Poleti lastovka", "Ljubezen je lepa" and "Srečen, ker sem moški", and in 2007 he released his third album, Eden in edini.

Later he turned to humorous, provocative singles with big videos: "Šok" in 2017, "Ritka prehlajena" in 2018 and "Kabriolet" in 2020, followed by "Mrcina" with Vedeževalec Blaž, "Breskvice" with Tilen Brglez, "Božiček" and "Rabim zdravnika". His own site says that "Šok", "Mrcina" and "Božiček" ran up millions of views on YouTube.

He has also written two books with Marjanca Scheicher: the autobiography Srečen, ker sem moški (2009), which he calls the best-selling celebrity biography in Slovenia, and Sladko življenje Damjana Murka.

In 2026 he marked 22 years on stage with the song "Moj mali ku...", which drew almost 300,000 views on YouTube in two weeks, and with his first solo concert tour of large Slovenian halls, "22 let šok terapije"; the first two concerts sold out. The playlist comes from his own channel, with "Moj mali ku...", "Šok", "Rabim zdravnika", "Božiček", "Mrcina", "Kabriolet" and "Ritka prehlajena".
