Billysi

Billysi is a melodic pop rock band from Ljubljana, Slovenia, known for lively concerts. The band was formed in 2001 and called itself Billy's Private Parking until September 2007, when it shortened the name to Billysi. It is based in Ljubljana and sings mostly in Slovenian, with some songs in English.

It was founded by the songwriter Sergej Pobegajlo, who had worked in Los Angeles and won the Slovenian Zlati petelin award for songwriting in 2000. The singer from the start has been Urška Majdič, who also writes the lyrics and co-writes the music. The drum seat changed often: Eki Lutman, Marko Soršak of Elvis Jackson, Roman Ratej, Jure Rozman and others played with the band, and Matic Ajdič was the guitarist from 2006 to 2012.

The first album, Modra pravljica, came out in 2002 and gave the band radio hits such as "Brez besed". In 2004 they reached the final of Melodije morja in sonca with "Še verjamem", and at the Hit Festival in November 2004 "Preženi oblake" came second, with a special award for Urška Majdič's lyrics. In 2005 they reached the final of EMA, the Slovenian Eurovision selection, with "Ljubljana", a song written and recorded in one day.

The second album, Insomnia (2005), brought "Ljubljana", "Ime" and "Insomnia" to the top of Slovenian charts. Magia followed in November 2007 on Dallas Records, with the single "Hello Hello", and Bite Me in 2010. In February 2009 the band won the Diamanti award for best rock act.

The playlist comes from the band's own channel: "Kaos", "Divja voda", "Sanjska", "Lahko je preprosto", English songs such as "December" and "Dreams", early Billy's Private Parking recordings and their cover of Roy Orbison's "You Got It".
