Bepop

Bepop is a Slovenian pop group, the first band picked on the Slovenian edition of the reality show Popstars, broadcast on Kanal A from January to June 2002. It is on Muzika-Balkan as a band from Slovenia: its five members came from all over the country, Tinkara Zorec (now Fortuna) from Celje, Alenka Husič from Ormož, Simon Meglič from Tržič, Ana Praznik from Zagorje ob Savi and Nejc Erazem from Mirna. Since 2019 the band has been a trio of Tinkara Fortuna, Alenka Husič and Ana Praznik, still active in Slovenia. Fans chose the name in a competition.

Their first song, "Moje sonce", came out in late June 2002 and at once became the summer hit on every radio station; the video was shot on the Croatian island of Krk. The second single, "Odpelji me", was presented at the Miss Slovenia show, and the debut album Bodi zvezda came out on 16 September 2002 on Menart. It is one of the best-selling albums in the history of Slovenian music. Four days later, on 20 September 2002, the youngest member, 17-year-old Nejc Erazem, died after a motorcycle accident that was not his fault. The four others decided to go on together, and they always left Nejc's solo in "Moje sonce" to the fans.

The Popstars Tour 2002 took them round the bigger Slovenian towns with Game Over and Sebastian, and it was repeated in 2003 with Unique and Claudia Beni. In 2002 they won a Viktor award for the best music act. Zapleši z nami followed in June 2003, with videos for "Zapleši z nami" and "Lokomotiva", and in 2003 they also tried EMA with "Ne sekiraj se". The third album, Bepop (2004), written almost entirely by Simon Meglič, brought "Komaj čakam" and "Le ti", and the Christmas album Božič je came at the end of 2004.

In August 2005 they stopped appearing together, without officially splitting. They sang "Odpelji me" and "Moje sonce" again in 2017 for the 15th anniversary, and in September 2019 came back for good as a female trio, without Meglič. New songs followed, among them "Verjamem v dobre ljudi" (2021), "Valovi morja" and "Za praznike" (2025) with the Choir of the Slovenian Philharmonic. In 2022 they played the Popstars United concert at Cvetličarna in Ljubljana with Game Over and Sebastian. The playlist gathers the videos from the band's own channel.
