Asgjë Sikur Dielli

Asgjë Sikur Dielli ("Nothing Like the Sun") is an Albanian alternative rock band from Kosovo. It was formed in Pristina in the 1990s, and that is why it is on Muzika-Balkan: it is a Pristina band, described by the Albanian press as the most active alternative group in Kosovo. The band is led by the singer Alban Nimani. Where the members live today is not stated in the sources, but the band still plays in Kosovo and Albania; in the summer of 2026 it appeared at the Sunny Hill Festival in Pristina.

The band's career began with a new version of "Mendoja çdo gjë merr fund pa ty", a song by Gjurmët. Their take is still counted among the best remakes in Albanian music, and many listeners rate its vocal even above the original, sung by Gjurmët's Migjen Kelmendi.

They have released three full albums: 1 in 1998 on Unique Sound, Ndodhemi in 2005 and Disident in 2015. The first carried "Kur e di se nuk di", "Ti dhe unë" and "Ne këndej", the second "Ndodhemi", "Koma" and "Bunker", and the third "Unë të dua ty", "Nuk mund t'kuptoj", "Pionier", "Melankoli", "Adresa" and the title song, released with a 360-degree video. Their own songs are known for poetic, often provocative lyrics about social life, set to alternative and art rock.

In 2006 the band was Alban Nimani on vocals, Bujar Hundozi on guitar, Visar Qeska on bass and Fatos Berisha on drums, with Blerta Kosova and later Pëllumb Ballata on synthesizer. The same four, with Ballata, marked the band's twentieth anniversary with a concert in the courtyard of the National Historical Museum in Tirana in July 2017, where they presented Ti dhe unë, a limited vinyl LP of their best songs, remastered and pressed in Berlin, with cover art by the Kosovar artists Alban Muja, Jakup Ferri, Driton Selmani and Artan Hajrullahu. The Sunny Hill Festival calls them one of the most influential Albanian alternative rock bands. The playlist is the album Disident.
