About AGATA
AGATA are a rock band from Kragujevac, Serbia. The band dates its official start to its first concert, at the Kragujevac club Sinema on 27 December 1991, and it has been led from the start by guitarist Mihailo Ignjatović, who writes the music, lyrics and arrangements. Its sound is built on Jelisaveta Ignjatović's distinctive voice and plain guitar playing, described as power pop with touches of funk, blues and rock.
The debut album, U dubini slatkih nemira, came out on Jugodisk in November 1991 and included "Šta nam ljubav ostavlja". Daleko od svega followed on Stig in 1993, Tajne on PGP RTS in 1996, and Nekad je sve bilo drugačije, recorded in 1998 and released about two years later. In 2002 PGP RTS released the hits collection Samo što smo malo stariji.
On 20 February 2004 AGATA sang "Na dlanu", written by Dragan Urošević and Mihailo Ignjatović, in the semi-final of Beovizija, part of Serbia and Montenegro's Eurovision selection, finishing 13th of 28. Ceo život je bend (PGP RTS, 2007) included a duet with Bajaga, and Biti normalan followed in 2016.
In December 2021 the band marked thirty years at Dom omladine Kragujevac, presenting the single "Made in Kragujevac" and signing with the house to publish its next album. That album, To je samo život, came out on Fidbox in 2025, with the singles "Na brodu ludaka", "Kad odem, kad me ne bude", "Bezimena bajka" and "Na putu večnosti", and the title song as a video single in April 2026.
