About Zorica Kondža

Zorica Kondža is a Croatian pop-rock singer from Split, born there on 25 June 1960, and known for her soprano voice. She has won the Split festival more than half a dozen times.

From 1981 she was the singer of Stijene, a rock band from Klis, recording the albums Cementna prašina (1981) and Jedanaest i petnaest (1982). With Stijene she won the 1982 Split festival with "Ima jedan svijet".

She went solo in 1984, and the wins came quickly: "Pokora" at the Split festival in 1985, "Vrijeme ljubavi" in 1986 and "Ti si moj san", a duet with Oliver Dragojević, in 1990. With Dragojević she also took third place at Jugovizija 1990 with "Sreća je tamo gdje si ti". In 1994 she won Split again with "Do posljednjeg daha", sung with Neno Belan, and "Dok ploviš morima" took the Grand Prix. "Zarobljena" won in 1997, when she was also second with Vinko Coce on "Sto mandolina", "Dobar dan ti, dušo" with Tony Cetinski won in 2001 and "Zauvijek" in 2006. Earlier, in 1985, she had sung "Prvi put osjećam" with Dražen Žanko at the Zagreb festival.

At Dora, the Croatian Eurovision selection, she was fourth in 1993 with "Nema mi do tebe" and in 1994 with "Ti si moj", and seventh in 1998 with "Nebo". "Vrati ga more" was second at Zadarfest in 1999. Her solo albums are Ti si moj (1994/95), Hodajmo po zvijezdama (2001) and the compilation Zlatna kolekcija (2004), and she has been nominated for a Porin five times between 1994 and 2024.

In 2017 she was a guest judge on Tvoje lice zvuči poznato, and in 2018 she toured with a rock programme. Zorica Kondža lives in Split with her husband, the songwriter Joško Banov.
