About Yuhubanda
Yuhubanda was a Slovenian pop band, one of the busiest on the local scene in the 2000s. Its singer was Tomaž Ahačič, known as Fogl, and the line-up was completed by keyboardist Boštjan Grabnar, Matjaž Vlašič, Grega Sulejmanovič and Marko Lednik. The band celebrated its tenth anniversary in 2009.
The breakthrough came at Melodije morja in sonca 2001, which Yuhubanda won with "Bum bum". The debut album, Gor pa dol, followed in 2002. At the Hit festival in 2003 the band took second place with "Črno na belem", which became the title of their second album in 2005. In 2004 they entered EMA, the Slovenian Eurovision selection, with "Če zdaj odideš sama" and finished eleventh, and they returned to the Hit festival with "Za vsak slučaj". In 2005 they sang "Angelina" at Melodije morja in sonca, and at Slovenska popevka that year "Če je to slovo" was voted the best Slovenian popevka by the listeners.
For their tenth anniversary in 2009 they gave "Bum bum" a new retro look as "Bum Bum '2010'", with Primož Grašič as guest guitarist, and announced a collection of their greatest hits. Their third album, Kdaj pa kaj, came out in 2012. Other singles from the band's years include "Pred oltarjem", "Sladka kot čokolada", "Te kaj v srcu zbada" and "Ti".
Yuhubanda stopped performing in 2014, when Matjaž Vlašič, Marko Lednik and Boštjan Grabnar formed the group Moj3. Fogl, who had been the band's voice for some fifteen years, died in 2016 after a serious illness.
