XXL

XXL was a Macedonian pop girl group of four teenagers, Marija Nikolova, Ivona Džamtovska, Rosica Nikolovska and Verica Karanfilovska. The group was formed for Skopje Fest 2000, the national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest, and is remembered for one song above all, "100% te ljubam" ("I love you 100%").

The song, written by Dragan Karanfilovski, Orče Zafirovski and Vlado Janevski, is a pop song with Balkan instrumental touches about a teenage girl's crush on a boy. At Skopje Fest on 19 February 2000 in the Universal Hall in Skopje, XXL sang tenth of 22 entries and won by a wide margin with 1,768 points: 1,300 from the jury, 288 from the audience and 180 from the televote. Karolina Gočeva was second with 916 points and Toše Proeski third with 395.

Before the contest XXL received the most votes of all entrants in an internet poll and drew comparisons with the Spice Girls. At the Eurovision Song Contest in the Globe Arena in Stockholm on 13 May 2000 they sang 19th of 24, between Sweden and Finland, and finished 15th with 29 points from four countries. The live vocals were heavily criticised, and Macedonia, relegated by the result, missed the 2001 contest.

Besides the Eurovision song, the group released "Zaboravi" and "Srekna Nova" in the early 2000s. These songs, together with "Step by Step" and the English version "I Love You 100%", came out again in 2023 on the digital album 100% te ljubam, which makes up the playlist here.
