About Teens
Teens were a Croatian pop rock band from Rijeka and Opatija, very popular around the turn of the millennium. The band started in 1996 as Mići rokeri (Little Rockers), a group of children who were already playing all over Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovenia and Montenegro.
In 1998 the music teacher Mario Šimunović noticed them and became their manager, and the band took the name Teens. Daniel Beni sang and played acoustic guitar, Claudia Beni sang and played congas and percussion, and Sandro Beni played keyboards, with Eugen Srdoč on bass, Zoran Majstorović on guitar and Ines Cech on drums.
Teens sang at Dora, the Croatian Eurovision selection, in 1999 and 2000, and released three albums: U tami i svjetlosti (1999), Blue laguna (2000) and Anđeo čuvar (2002). Each of them sold more than 30,000 copies, and in 2000 the band won the Porin for best new artist. Among their songs are "Miris ljubavi", "Blue laguna", "Oči boje neba" and "Anđeo čuvar (Hvala ti)".
After the Porin, Claudia Beni left the band to go solo. Teens played their last concert in June 2003 at Adamićev gat in Rijeka, and Daniel Beni went on with his own band.
