About Skroz
Skroz is a rock band from Sarajevo, formed in 1996 and led by singer and songwriter Adnan Šaran. Known for energetic pop-rock and socially aware lyrics, the band is one of the best-known rock acts to come out of the Bosnian post-war scene, with hits such as "Sve sam jači", "Srušio sam stan" and "Vila".
The idea for the band dates back to the early 1990s and two young musicians, Adnan Šaran and Dejan Ostojić, but the war put it on hold. In 1996 Šaran formed the group with drummer Nedžad Mulaomerović, bassist Mirza Suljagić and guitarist Sloven Anzulović, who were then members of Zabranjeno pušenje and the Top lista nadrealista. After club gigs in Sarajevo they took the name Skroz at the end of 1997 and first appeared in the media that December. Ostojić joined on keyboards in early 1998, the band played its first concert at the Rock Otočec festival in Slovenia that year, and then toured the region as part of Zabranjeno pušenje's tour.
At the end of 1998 Skroz went to Amsterdam to record with producer Zlaja Hadžić. Twelve of the fourteen songs made the debut album Skroz, released in May 2000 by Croatia Records and Tessa Audio. Its lead single "Sve sam jači" stayed on Bosnian TV and radio charts for a long time and became the band's turning point, followed by "Kada te droge spuste" and "Dobro mi došli".
The early 2000s brought line-up changes: Anzulović and Suljagić left, Ostojić moved to bass, Nedžad Pođić of Zabranjeno pušenje took over keyboards, and in 2002 guitarist Esad Bratović came from Sikter. The second album, Savršeni organizam, finished in Amsterdam with producer Zlaja Hadžić, came out on Menart on 28 August 2004, with fifteen songs by Šaran and guests Enes Zlatar Bure of Sikter and Edo Maajka. The video for "Super žena" won the Davorin award in 2005, and "Srušio sam stan" became one of the band's biggest hits.
The single "Afganistan" got its own video, "Igraj Bosno" was written for the fans of KK Bosna, and the third album, Regija, recorded at the MML studio in Sarajevo, was released by Menart in April 2009. Guitarist Elvir Salčinović and keyboardist Nino Škiljić then joined, and the singles kept coming: "Amerikanac" (2011), "Raj" (2013), "Ego" and "Vila" (2015) and "Izgubi me", a duet with Velahavle. The band's own channel has since added "Oblak" (2024) and "S.O.S." (2025).
In 2022 the documentary Skroz Sarajevo, directed by Nenad Đurić and produced by Omar Kuštrić, premiered at the 28th Sarajevo Film Festival. It follows the band from its Sarajevo beginnings through the war and post-war years, tours, successes and struggles, with friends such as Elvis J. Kurtović, Letu štuke, Sikter and Marko Louis.
