About Siledžije
Siledžije are a crossover and rapcore band from Ljubuški in Herzegovina, Bosnia and Herzegovina. They are on Muzika-Balkan because the four-piece was formed in Ljubuški in 2009 and is a band from that town; the sources give no other base.
The line-up is Gordan Džajo on vocals, Sile Nuić on guitar, Bernard Brkić on drums and Josip Paradžik on keyboards. They describe their sound as the meeting point of the members' different tastes, from hip-hop and funk rock to punk, with touches of electronic music.
After half a year of working together they released their first single, "Forrest Gump", and took it to the Jaeger Music Night festival in 2010, which they won. They also won the F.A.R.S.A. festival in 2011 and the 9th West Herzegovina Fest, and played festivals all over Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia.
Their first studio album, Dom za nezabrinutu djecu, came out in 2012 on the Sarajevo label Ekipa in Bosnia and Herzegovina and on the independent label Slušaj najglasnije in Croatia. It was recorded at the Skirlibaba studio in Sarajevo with Brano Jakubović as producer. The Mostar poet Veselin Gatalo appears on "Nešto je trulo u državi krasnoj" and the Croatian rapper Kandžija on "Sloboda odabira"; the album also has a cover of the Azra song "Nedjeljni komentar".
Their songs are sharp social satire, with titles like "Dozvola za pendrek" ("A licence for the baton") and "Nešto je trulo u državi krasnoj" ("Something is rotten in the lovely state"). The playlist holds the whole album, from "Dom za nezabrinutu djecu" to "Forrest Gump".
