About Sane
Sane is a pop-rock band from Zagreb with an unusual beginning. It was founded in 1995 in the village of Puttaparthi in India, where the Canadian producer and talent scout Steven Harmer heard two seventeen-year-olds playing their own songs. He brought them together with producer Chris "Lurch" Rudyk, with whom they recorded their debut album, Antelupiulla, released in 1998.
Years followed in which the band travelled around Europe, lived in London, changed members and broke up more than once. In 2008 it came together again as the trio of Nikola Marjanović, Stjepan Krznarić and Tomas Balaž. With the single "Dečko" Sane competed at Dora 2009, reaching the semi-final but not the final. The band also played at the Porin evening dedicated to Dino Dvornik and at the show for him at Bačvice in Split, and released a cover of his "Ja bih preživio".
When Balaž left in the middle of 2010, Krznarić moved to the drums and bassist Sebastian Jurić joined; Jurić has also played with Žanamari's band J'Animals. This line-up released the singles "Vila", "Mi", "Puj pečatim" and "Koliko sam tvoj", and Do Not Cover, an album of covers sung in English, paid for through a crowdfunding campaign. For years the band had a regular night at the Sax! club in Zagreb.
About Time, the second album of the band's own songs, followed in 2014, and its songs, among them "Maybe Tomorrow", "Stay", "Fallen Angel" and "Envy & Pride", make up the playlist. Singer Nikola Marjanović, a co-founder of Sane, is also the voice of Radio Luksemburg.
