About Roko Blažević

Roko Blažević, known on stage simply as Roko, is a Croatian pop singer born in Split on 10 March 2000. He represented Croatia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 with "The Dream".

He comes from a musical family: his mother Marija Saratlija-Blažević is a singer, his father Mario Blažević sings in a klapa and his brother plays double bass. Roko plays piano and organ, and once played in a band with the sons of Gibonni and Tomislav Mrduljaš. He first showed his talent at the age of eleven, singing and playing the piano on Nova TV's Supertalent in 2011.

His career officially began in 2017, when in July he won the Serbian talent show Pinkove zvezdice. In December 2018 he finished second on RTL's Zvijezde, mentored by Jacques Houdek, and his channel keeps many of his performances from that show, including duets with Houdek. On 16 February 2019 Roko Blažević won Dora 2019 with "The Dream", which he also recorded in Croatian as "Heroj". At Eurovision he placed 14th in the second semi-final with 64 points and did not reach the final.

Later singles include "Krila" with The Messengers, "Exit Lane" and "Još te sanjam". On 1 June 2024 he gave a concert with Klapa More in Manhattan Beach, California, as part of Croatian Cultural Heritage Month.
