About Rok Kosmač
Rok Kosmač is a Slovenian pop singer and songwriter, born on 16 September 1985 in Ljubljana. As a child he saw Great Balls of Fire, the film about Jerry Lee Lewis, on television, and it made him want to be a musician; he taught himself the piano and from the age of 18 made his living from music.
At 17 he made his debut on the TV programme Orion with "Ne pozabi me ti", a song he wrote himself, which was named Orion's song of the year 2002. He then became a regular at Melodije morja in sonca in Portorož, always with his own songs: "Mala" in 2003 and "Biseri v očeh" in 2004 both won the award for the best melody, "Živim le zate" came fifth in 2005 and "Misli kaj name" sixth in 2006. In 2004 he also sang "Ko pride čas" at the Hit festival, and in 2006 he received a Gong popularnosti award.
In 2007 Rok Kosmač entered EMA, the Slovenian selection for Eurovision, with "Ko še spiš", again his own song; he placed ninth in the second semi-final and later recorded it for an English-speaking audience.
He has made three albums, RoKosmač, Živim le zate and Prepusti se, and has kept writing and performing, with the singles "Ker ti" in 2021 and "Modro" in 2022, both of his own words and music.
