Reper iz sobe

Reper iz sobe, "the rapper from the room", is the stage name of Ivan Grgić, a Croatian rapper and songwriter from Biograd na Moru on the Dalmatian coast. His songs mix hip-hop with funk and neo-soul, and on stage he plays with his band, Genijalci.

His first album, Vanka, was nominated for a Porin for the best hip-hop album. With the pop-rock band Buđenje he recorded the funk song "Veza nam je spora".

In April 2022 he released "Disko raketa", the first single from his second album, Unutra. Its video was shot in Zagreb by director Dinko Šimac, and the song is about escaping a heavy everyday life. In 2023 the single "Jennifer" followed on Menart, with a video starring the actors Roko Sikavica, Sara Ivelić and Nika Barišić. A review of Unutra in the Belgrade daily Danas described it as laid-back hip-hop with funk and a touch of jazz, built on prominent bass lines, and noted that he made it at home during the pandemic lockdowns, which suits his name. The reviewer singled out the song about the actress Jennifer Lawrence and "Tajland" with the singer Anna Moor.

Singles such as "Roze očale" and "Jesam li to ja?" have followed since. His recordings are gathered here in one playlist.
