Lollobrigida

Lollobrigida, also known as Lollobrigida Girls and VIS Lollobrigida, is a Croatian electropop and synthpop band led by its founder, singer and songwriter Ida Prester. It began in 2003 with a lo-fi demo CD on which Prester wrote the songs and played and sang every part herself, and which she passed around Zagreb's underground scene.

To play the songs live she was joined by Natalija Dimčevski, and as the duo Lollobrigida Girls they gave their first big concert in June 2003 at Zagreb's KSET, opening for the German trash musician Mambo Kurt. In February 2004 they filled the Studentski centar on their own and signed to DOP Records/Menart. The singles "Party" and "Nesretan Božić" came out in 2004, followed in May 2005 by the debut album Cartoon Explosion.

In 2006 Natalija left, live instruments replaced the computer backing, and the band took the name VIS Lollobrigida; from 2008 three Slovenian musicians played in it too. "Bubblegum Boy" and "Moj dečko je gay" were shown on MTV Adria, and the second album, Lollobrigida Incorporated, came out in May 2008 with "Miss Right and Mr. Wrong", which topped many Croatian radio charts. "Volim te" reached number one on the Pure MTV Adria Chart in 2009, and that year the band won MTV Adria's Best Regional Act award, handed over in Berlin by Momčilo Bajagić Bajaga.

The third album, Pilula, was launched at Zagreb's Tvornica in January 2012 with "Malo vremena", "Ja se resetiram" and "Pilula", and readers of the portal Popboks voted it the best regional album of 2012. Lollobrigida played the EXIT festival in Novi Sad nine times from 2004, including its main stage in 2010, and was invited to the Tribute to R.E.M. concert in Ljubljana in 2012 with its own cover of "Shiny Happy People". Later songs include "Najbolji život" (2014), "Sutra" and "Tvoja".
