About Lara Demarin
Lara Demarin is a Croatian pop and R&B singer and songwriter, born on 15 May 1996 in Pula, according to Novi list. That is why she is on Muzika-Balkan under Croatia: she was born and grew up in Istria.
She later settled in the capital. When she entered Dora in 2024, Novi list described her as a Pula native with a Zagreb address, and her later live recordings, such as her 2026 concert at the Lisinski hall, were made in Zagreb.
Her music career began in 2016 on The Voice, where her mentor was Tony Cetinski. After the show she spent about six years as a backing singer in the Funkensteins, the band of Matija Cvek, whom she first worked with in 2018. In 2020 she introduced herself as a singer-songwriter, and in June 2023 she released "Ne dam ti da znaš", written by Matej Mudrovčić and Matija Cvek, which spent two weeks on the Top HR 40 chart.
In late 2023 she left the Funkensteins to go solo. Her next single, "Dodir", is an R&B song about moving on after a breakup, with music by her brother Luka Demarin and words by the two of them. She has said she wants to bring the early-2000s R&B and hip-hop sound back to a new audience.
Her third single, "Ne vjerujem ti", began at a sound check when Luka played a few chords and she improvised the melody, with a rap by Robert Domitrović. She sang it at Dora 2024, qualified from the second semi-final and finished 11th in the final. Two years later she returned to Dora with "Mantra", written with Ananda Đuranović, Robert Aralica and Luka; it was third in its semi-final and 12th in the final.
Later singles include "Jeans" (2025), "Da si mi blizu" and "Jamais" (2026), and at Lisinski she sang "Princeza" with Dado Topić. The playlist here gathers her singles and official videos.
