She began in the late 1990s with the pop band Planet Groove, which released two albums, Livin' on Planet Earth and Zakon Groovitacije, and around 2001 and 2002 she presented the music video show Videospotnice on national television.
In 2001 she sang "Hrepenenje" at the Festival slovenskega šansona and received the expert jury's award for the best lyrics. Her breakthrough came in 2002 with "Tisoč", written by Rok Golob and Štefan Miljevič: at Slovenska popevka it won the expert jury's award for the best song overall and finished sixth in the public vote, and it was fourth at Megahit the same year. In 2002 she was also on stage with the group Sestre, who won EMA with "Samo ljubezen" and finished 13th at Eurovision in Tallinn.
On her own she competed at EMA with "Sedmi čut" in 2003 and with her own song "Anima" in 2005, which finished eighth, and at Slovenska popevka 2004 she sang "Nad vse". Her solo albums Anima and Sakura followed, Sakura in 2009, which she later called her last mark in mainstream music. In 2008 she sang with Laibach on their European tour.
That year she graduated in jazz singing under Dena DeRose at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz. With the Big Band RTV Slovenija she recorded Paris Honey (2016), jazz standards arranged by her husband, the pianist Milan Stanisavljević, and You and I and the Music (2019). With the group Okustični she finished fifth at EMA 2019 with "Metulji plešejo" and made the album Enkratna, neponovljiva, which won the Zlata piščal award for album of the year 2020.
She has also studied classical singing for many years. In 2012 she made her debut at the Slovenian National Theatre in Ljubljana in Purcell's Dido and Aeneas and toured Europe with the Slovenian Philharmonic in a concert version of Tchaikovsky's Iolanta, and at the end of 2015 she sang Sara in Donizetti's Roberto Devereux in Ostrava. Her newest album, Dva črna vrana, released by ZKP RTV Slovenija, is mostly jazz with a touch of pop; Stanisavljević composed nearly all of it, and the title song is a duet with Saša Tabaković.
