About Ivana Kovač

Ivana Kovač is a Croatian pop singer, born on 1 September 1977 in Zagreb. She is the daughter of Mišo Kovač, one of the great names of Croatian popular music, whose family comes from Šibenik, while her mother, Anita Baturina, comes from Split. She is known for "Ako si muško", "Ludilo" and "Bila boja" and for her many duets.

After primary school in Zagreb she finished a secondary school for cosmetics, and as a teenager she did ballet and taekwondo. In 2006 she became the new singer of Magazin, taking over from Jelena Rozga. That year the group released Dama i car, which sounded quite different from the Magazin of the previous ten years, and it was followed by Bossa n' Magazin, the band's old hits recast as bossa nova, which reached number 14 on the Croatian sales chart. She left in 2010 and Andrea Šušnjara took her place; the compilation Godine s Ivanom, gathering her Magazin years, reached number 7.

On her own she sang duets with her father, among them "Tvoja mala", and in 2012 recorded "Dalmacijo, srce oca moga" with Klapa Bunari. Her first solo album, Crno vino, crne oči, came out on Croatia Records on 5 December 2013 and went to number one on the Croatian album chart and to number nine in Slovenia.

The second album, Srećo i tugo, followed on Scardona on 18 May 2020, seven years after the first, and also reached number one in Croatia. Its twelve songs include "Bila boja", "Ludilo", "Za mene", "Mala mafioza", "Biser s juga", the duet "Dva goluba" with Mladen Grdović and "Ti", which won the journalists' jury award and the prize for best styling at the 2019 Split festival. Among the songwriters and collaborators were Nenad Ninčević, Fedor Boić and Dražen Zečić.

She has kept releasing new songs since, among them "To se desi" and "Lom" in 2022 and "Malo mi je jedan život s tobom", which she sang at the CMC festival in 2026. The playlist comes from her official channel and runs from her festival songs of 2010 to the newest releases.
