Fed Horses

Fed Horses is a Slovenian indie pop and rock band from Logatec, led by the singer Urša Mihevc and the guitarist Jure Mihevc. Their sound draws on indie, pop, americana and rock, and they have sung first in English and, since 2019, mostly in Slovenian.

The band began in 2013 in Jure Mihevc's studio, where he and Urša wrote songs to record as a duo with guest musicians. The first song, "Hands", came out that autumn, recorded with the harmonica player Miha Erič. It was meant to stay a studio project, but they decided to play live, and the first concert was at the HISTeRIA festival in 2013. In 2014 they won ŠOURock, a competition for school and student bands, and in 2015 and 2017 they reached the final of Demofest in Banja Luka, chosen from more than 400 bands from the former Yugoslavia.

The EP Sinner (2018) brought five songs with English lyrics by Jernej Juren, and "Sinner" was the second most played song of the year on Val 202. Playing at the Izštekani 25 concert in December 2018 inspired them to write in Slovenian. In February 2019 they entered EMA, the Slovenian Eurovision selection, with "Ti ne poznaš konjev", their first official Slovenian song, and the jury placed it third in the first round. "Spremembe" was the second most played song of 2019 on Val 202, and it gave its name to an EP of six Slovenian songs in February 2020. The live album Izštekani (2019) came from their appearance on that radio show.

Singles such as "Zahodno dekle", "Argentina", "Ljubezen" and "Dež je za novo leto" followed. In 2023 Fed Horses were the most played artists on Radio SI, and "MLAD" was the most played song of the year on Val 202. Their first full-length album, M. L. A. D., was presented on 20 April 2024 at a sold-out concert in Kino Šiška, filmed by Televizija Slovenija. The band today is Urša Mihevc, Jure Mihevc, Matej Tekavčič on bass, Marco Cali on drums and Andraž Mazi on guitar.
