About Dječaci

Dječaci ("The Boys") were a Croatian hip hop group from Split, whose songs are full of humour and often explicit. The core of the group was three rappers: Vojko Vrućina (Andrija Vujević), Ivo Sivo (Ivo Hajdić) and Zoni (Danijel Simon), with Vojko and Zoni also making the music.

The members began making music in the late 1990s in Split and Zagreb, through radio shows, freestyle sessions and underground projects in 1999 and 2000. Their work together grew stronger after Zoni moved to Split to study in 2003, and much of it ran through the group Tesla Stiliti, where the future Dječaci came together. In the spring of 2005 Vojko Vrućina and Kid Rađa joined, all four appeared together on "Dan-D za pande", and in July 2005 the group took the new name Dječaci, Zoni's idea. Their website, djecaci.net, went online on 1 August 2005 and did much to build their following.

Kid Rađa left early in 2007, and at the end of that year the group signed with Dop Records/Menart. Their debut album, Drama, came out in the autumn of 2008, with tracks such as "Kamiondžije", "Kralj ribara", "Narodna" and "Punjene paprike", and in 2009 it won the Zlatna Koogla award for album of the year.

The second album, Istina, followed on Croatia Records in 2011, and its single "Lovrinac" was nominated for the Porin as hit of the year. The singles "Zoni ti si lud" (2013) and "Struja" (2014) led to the third album, Firma, released on 15 May 2015, with videos for "Shopping", "CMC" and "Liu Kang". Their last non-album tracks were "Koma" and "Unos u Nos" in 2016.

According to the group's Discogs profile, Dječaci were active until 2018. Zoni and Ivo Sivo have since released solo videos on the group's channel.
