About Damir Poša

Damir Poša is a Croatian singer-songwriter, chansonnier and composer of music for film and television, from the island of Korčula. He has been on the Croatian music scene for more than forty years and lives and works in Zagreb.

He left Korčula for Zagreb in 1979 to study guitar at a secondary music school, and while still a student he formed the duo Damir i Nikola, which played in Zagreb's clubs. Even then he was writing songs that he recorded for the music production of Croatian Radiotelevision, and he soon appeared on television and on stage.

From 1985 he worked as a solo singer-songwriter, still recording his songs for HRT, and up to 1990 he wrote a great many of them, working with Vedran Božić, Ismet Kurtović, Vanja Lisak, Drago Mlinarec and Brane Živković. Since 1997 he has written music for films, and the same year he joined the Croatian Composers' Society.

His solo albums began with Pjesme (1993) and Navijork (1995) on Orfej, followed by Bez obaveza (1997), U plamenu vremena (1999) and Kolekcija pjesama (2000) on Croatia Records, Pjesme sa zapadne strane (2001), Može i ovako (2005) and Brodovi su kao ljudi (2009), presented at the Zagrebfest. Live albums followed from Vienna (2010) and Zagreb (2012, also on DVD), then Ples na žici (2014), Live at Home Korčula (2015) and 3 oštre crte osjećanja (2017).

On Moj ludi plan još traje (Cantus, 2021) he wrote the words and music and sang and played acoustic guitar and harmonica, with songs such as "Mjesec iznad Pelješca" and "Blues iz Koromačine". In 2022 he presented the book Moj ludi plan, with more than two hundred and fifty of his songs, photographs and a CD, published by the Hrvatsko književno društvo in Rijeka, and released Ogoljeno – Unplugged. In 2024 came Na početku, recorded with Vedran Božić.
