About Almir Ajanović
Almir Ajanović, also known as Don Almir, is a Bosnian singer, guitarist, songwriter and producer whose music moves between pop, rock and blues-rock. He was born on 24 November 1975 in Sarajevo, and that is why he is on Muzika-Balkan under Bosnia. When the war began he left for Sweden, where he went on making music and trained as a music producer. His newest videos, from 2025, were filmed live in Stockholm with his SBB Band; the sources do not say plainly where he lives today.
He first appeared in 1992, at sixteen, as the member and leader of the group Staklena zvona, which stopped working when the war started. In Sweden he founded a new version of Staklena zvona with local musicians and played with them there, before he turned to a solo career as Don Almir in 2003.
His debut album, Moja duša bosanska, came out in 2004 on the music production of the Bosnian public broadcaster. It was the last album produced by Slobodan Bodo Kovačević, and it carried "Dođi do mene", "Oprosti mi", "Odlazi", "Ako umrem mlad", "Sarajevo" and "Sve što sada želim". It earned him the Oskar popularnosti as the discovery of the year. Alongside his own songs he built a career as a writer and producer in his studio Tempo, which he founded and owns.
In 2005 he sang "Samo bol" at the festival in Bihać, and a year later he won the first audience prize there with "Ja nemam snage", a duet with Hanka Paldum; the same song won the prize for the best lyrics at the festival in Novi Pazar. From 2007 to 2009 he was the executive producer of the Vogošća folk festival. His second album, Ako je suđeno da, came out in 2008 with "Nema moje drage", "Ne daš mi da te zaboravim", "Laganim korakom" and "Starac na cesti". Then came "Volim te do grijeha" (2010), "Ateriraj" (2011) and "Bio sam ti drag" (2012).
Bosnian Wikipedia credits him with more than 200 songs. He wrote "Ljubav je", the song with which Dalal, Deen, Ana Rucner and Jala Brat represented Bosnia and Herzegovina at Eurovision 2016 in Stockholm. He has also chaired the board of AIS, the Bosnian society that protects performers' rights.
In 2023 he released the Bosnian songs "Zauvijek", "Začarani krug", "Vrijeme promjena" and "Ti", and in early 2025 "Čekam da vratiš dan". His live videos with SBB Band are English blues-rock, among them "Hard to Believe", "Let Me Hold You" and "Life Ain't Easy", and he sang "Little Wing" as a guest of Gipsy Power and Steven Kautzky Andersson. The playlist is his own channel, from those live songs back to his first videos.
